PUMPKIN: The true queen of autumn vegetables!

With the arrival of autumn we can enjoy various vegetables, one of which is pumpkin.
Today we want to talk to you about the Moscata di Provenza pumpkin that we produce on our farm.

The harvest takes place between August and November before the start of frost. Thanks to the Sicilian sun that continues the ripening and sweetens the sugary pulp and this guarantees a longer conservation.
In fact, pumpkins can be stored for over 6 months in cool, dry, ventilated places at a temperature no higher than 10 degrees because the pulp could rot.
This type of vegetable was recently imported from Provence (in France), a variety much appreciated in the kitchen both for its innumerable qualities such as vitamins A and C, beta-carotene, mineral salts such as potassium, calcium and phosphorus, rich in fibre as well as being low in calories, but also for its versatility as it lends itself to the preparation of various dishes such as: risottos, cream soups, soups and desserts.
The Moscata di Provenza squash has a flattened shape that can reach up to 15 kg. The orange-bronze colored skin has deep grooves.
Inside the pulp is soft and has an intense orange colour.
It has a delicate, sweet flavor that everyone likes, even the little ones.
If you want to enjoy a genuine quality product you can buy pumpkins from the Miceli company directly on our shop .
