Ground Oregano in Bag - Season 2024

Packaged in a bag of ground oregano, grown naturally and not treated with pesticides, exclusively in the Sicilian territory of the Miceli Farm.

Oregano is harvested in June when it is in flower; then hang upside down to dry in dark and well-ventilated places.

When a bunch is completely dried it is worked by hand to take only the flowers and leaves, eliminating the stems and any impurities.

The finished product has a strong but pleasant smell, a delicate flavor and is stored in large glass jars.

Property

Oregano is suitable for seasoning all types of meat, tomato salads, pizzas, baked potatoes, slices of bread with extra virgin olive oil and salt, but it is also excellent for herbal teas;

Our oregano crops are located near the sea, in this way the plant produces a greater quantity of essential oil.

In Sicily it is the irreplaceable ingredient of many recipes, such as Salmoriglio or Salmorigano, a sauce that accompanies grilled meat and fish, Aeolian and Pantellerian salads based on tomatoes, capers, potatoes, olives and red onion.

Oregano, in addition to flavoring meat, fish, eggs, mozzarella, feta, fresh cheeses, enhances the flavor of tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, peppers, courgettes, aubergines, and also gives an unusual aroma to fresh tomato sauce, in place of basil.
