Lemon and its Multiple Properties
In favourable climatic conditions, the lemon tree can flower even several times:
a first flowering occurs in spring, when the winter lemons are obtained, and a second during the autumn period, when the green lemons are born which will reach maturity in the following summer.
Lemon is particularly important from a nutritional point of view due to its very high percentage of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which counteracts the formation of free radicals and strengthens the immune system.
This is why it is recommended to drink a glass of water and lemon in the morning.
Lemon juice is an astringent, antibacterial and antioxidant.
There are countless recipes that can be made with lemons thanks to their unmistakable fresh and fragrant aroma.
Ideal for first courses such as risotto and pasta and then moving on to seasoning meat.
With this citrus fruit you can make jams, desserts such as tarts, semifreddos, sorbets.
And finally, you can prepare a perfect after-dinner drink: Limoncello.
Also widely used in cosmetics, lemon essential oil is an excellent toner for oily skin and also reduces age spots and dark spots caused by the sun.
Refreshing summer fragrances have always been created that give a unique and typically Mediterranean scent.
