Oranges Vanilla Seedless

oranges vanilla

Arance Vaniglia Apireno, a particular variety of sweet and seedless Sicilian orange, with a delicate and fragrant flavour.

The Vanilla orange belongs to the blond orange group and is the only variety in the world with very low acidity (acid-less 0.06 – 0.15%) and with a very low thickness of the skin of the segments.

Vanilla oranges are particularly recommended, as they are easily tolerated by people suffering from gastric, intestinal and liver disorders; furthermore, despite being sweet, the Apireno Vanilla orange contains a very low quantity of sugar, making it one of the few fruits recommended for those who need to control their sugar intake.

All our oranges are freshly picked and placed in special crates just before shipping, without any polishing wax, without being brushed or washed.

Property:

The Vanilla orange tree begins to sprout in mid-March and then proceeds to produce flower buds at the end of March.

The flowering of vanilla oranges begins in April and ends in early May. The average production of the vanilla plant ranges from 50 to 70 kg. The fruit has good resistance on the plant and the harvest, carried out manually, takes place between November and April of the following year.

Vanilla oranges

Orange cultivation in Sicily was introduced by the Arabs in the 10th century. Later, around 1400, Genoese sailors introduced the "Vaniglia" variety, importing it from China and the Indies, although there is no certainty about its origin, which probably results from spontaneous crosses and subsequent asexual reproductions that occurred in the area where this variety is currently widespread.
